New Members Bring Entrepreneurship, Film PR, and Public Affairs Expertise to Board
AUSTIN, TX – (December 8, 2017) The Austin Film Society is proud to announce the election of four new members to its Board of Directors: Lina Catalfamo Plath of Frank PR, Merrill Davis of Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Adam Chibib and Kip McClanahan, both of Silverton Partners. The Board of Directors are an integral part of the Austin Film Society (AFS), serving in a governance role and l supporting AFS’s mission to make, watch, and love film. Their leadership includes cultivating relationships in the community and providing valuable resources and knowledge to aid in the advancement of the organization. Board member terms last three years.

Adam Chibib
Adam has been one of Austin’s leading financial and operational executives for over 25 years, ranging from early-stage start-ups to billion-dollar public companies. His experience spans numerous industries including telecom software, security hardware, financial services, and gaming. He is currently a general partner at Silverton Partners, and his previous experience includes positions with Multimedia Games, NetSpend, TippingPoint Technologies, WaveSet, BroadJump, and Tivoli Software. Adam is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where he received a BBA in Accounting.
Merrill Davis
Merrill has more than twenty years of experience in public affairs and currently serves as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Hill+Knowlton, leading the company’s Austin office. She has developed a proven track record in providing senior counsel, strategic advice, and management of accounts, teams, resources, and budgets. For the past five years, Merrill has actively participated in the Texas Lyceum, serving on the Executive Committee, and also serves on the board of Seedling, is a member of the Texas Association of Business, the Austin Chamber of Commerce, and the World Affairs Council. She is a graduate of Rice University and attended the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
Kip McClanahan
Kip returns to the AFS Board of Directors, having served from 2007 – 2010. Kip has 20 years of experience working in the IT security, networking, media communications, and software industries. He has served as both CEO and board member both to public and private companies. Kip’s founding and leadership roles in companies include BroadJump, TippingPoint, and NetSpeed. He is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Lina Catalfamo Plath
Lina currently resides in New York City where she is a Founder and Partner of FRANK PR, an agency that provides corporate public relations, film festival publicity, marketing, strategic counsel, corporate crisis, non-profit campaigns, film/television campaigns, and awards strategies for clients in the entertainment space. She has managed relationships with some of the top entertainment organizations including The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Magnolia, Lionsgate, MGM, Paramount, EPIX, NBC, WWE Studios, IFP Gotham Awards, The Hamptons International Film Festival, Sarasota Film Festival, Athena Film Festival, Nantucket Film Festival, and Montclair Film Festival. Her previous experience includes publicity roles with Miramax Films, Fine Line Features, and New Line Cinema, where she was the Vice President of Publicity for nine years. Lina attended Stony Brook University and Baruch College.
