Director George Stevens brings his usual intelligent touch to this comedy set during the WWII housing shortage in Washington. The story centers around an apartment occupied by a very patient young single women (Jean Arthur, of course) a worldly wise old gentleman (Charles Coburn) and an upstanding, handsome young man (Joel McCrea).
