Presented by the Austin Taiwanese Association and Taiwanese American Professionals – Austin, in partnership with Austin Asian American Film Festival.
When three rebellious students leave their hometown to pursue their lifelong dreams in the big city, their relationships start to face the pressures of real life as the 1980s Taiwanese sociopolitical reformation movement unfolds in the background.
This film is screened in commemoration of Taiwan’s February 28 Peace Memorial Day. The film’s setting near the end of over 38 years of martial law, also known as the White Terror, in 1980s Taiwan echoes the yearning for the Taiwanese people’s struggle for democracy that led to the February 28, 1947 massacre.
