SCREENWRITING 101

In this two-part course, students will review the basic elements of screenwriting, including formatting, structure, and basic character development. The workshop functions as an instructive course for both beginner and intermediate screenwriters. Participants will learn the fundamentals of telling a story, structure, formatting and other tips and tricks to getting your ideas on the page. Participants will have an opportunity to engage with a short scene and workshop it with the group.

Get to know the Instructor: 

Stephen Ohl is an award-winning writer/director with over 10 years of professional experience. He received an MFA in Directing from the AFI Conservatory. He made his feature debut with the hilarious Useless Humans, which was released on Showtime in 2020. His newest show is a comedy titled Sales Are Dope and was released on YouTube last year.
