This beautiful, vibrant film, directed by Alexander Korda from a script by Marcel Pagnol, introduces us to the three characters whose intertwined lives and fortunes comprise Pagnol's epochal Marseilles Trilogy. In a waterfront bar, Marius, son of the proprietor Cesar, pines after beautiful Fanny. When their love becomes a reality, life becomes much more complicated for all.

MARIUS is the first film in the Marseilles Trilogy.
