Out in the west Texas town of El Paso, my mother gave birth to a Mexican girl ... ME!
I am currently a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a degree in Radio, TV & Film with a minor in Business and Spanish. Since I was a kid, I’ve always been intrigued by the film industry. I have learned to love and appreciate many different film genres and can watch a movie a million times and never get tired of it. I think I made my family sick when I was kid after insisting they watch DUMBO and THREE AMIGOS with me every day for at least five years. I am convinced that my friends hate watching films with me, but little do they know that I am slowly brainwashing them into thinking with a critical mind of a filmmaker. My eyes light up every time I hear them analyze something about a film.
After I graduated from high school, I attended the New York Film Academy acting camp in Los Angeles. Four intense weeks of acting in front of a camera and $8,000 later, I decided that acting was not my cup of green tea. But during my time there, I fell deeply in love with the chaotic goings-on behind the camera. So, that leads to where I am now, a proud Longhorn studying and trying to make inspiring films. Who knows where the road will lead me to after I graduate in December, but with my ambitious drive, positive attitude and support from my family and friends, I am determined to go far. I am very excited about interning at Austin Film Society and look forward to the many opportunities this internship has to offer.
