Presented by Michel Scott post-screening discussion moderated by Bryan Poyser
OVER THE HILLS AND FAR AWAY chronicles the journey of the Isaacson family as they travel through Mongolia in search of a mysterious shaman who they believe can heal their autistic son. This film delves into the strange world of autism, horses, shamanism, and Mongolia while telling the story of a family that will go to the end of the earth to find a way into their son’s life. About the Docs-in-Progress series: Filmmakers screen their "rough cuts" (or "near-fine-cuts") for a filmmaker-member audience, and receive constructive comments and feedback. The meetings are moderated by experienced Austin film professionals. Participants will be expected to agree to confidentiality regarding the film and the comments received, as the films to be screened have not been finalized. For more information on Docs-in-Progress, please click here.
