Austin Premiere!

In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated the small coastal communities of Hancock County, MS. Hour after hour the unrelenting winds and high wa ter destroyed nearly everything. One-Eyed Girl is a story of one community’s survival through the worst natural disaster in our country’s history. Experience the storm and its aftermath through the stories of larger-than-life characters. A factory worker rides out the storm on the beach. A local radio operator repairs a communications tower during the storm. A volunteer firefighter daringly saves a family from a drowning vehicle. Volunteers from all around the country bring the community hope, and the local artists and musicians give the community life. One-Eyed Girl is a fun, sincere, and uplifting look at how one community refuses to be a victim.
