AFS is IN SEARCH OF (YOUR) MIDNIGHT KISS!

Join the Austin Film Society in celebrating the national theatrical release of one-time Austin filmmaker Alex Holdridge's IN SEARCH OF A MIDNIGHT KISS with a very special advance screening for AFS members. Writer/director Alex Holdridge and stars Scoot McNairy, Sara Simmonds, Brian McGuire and other special guests will be in attendance for Q&A.

About the film:

It's New Year's Eve in LA and Wilson (Scoot McNairy) has just had the worst year of his life. He's new to Los Angeles, he has no date, no concrete plans and every intention of locking the doors and forgetting the last year ever happened. That is until his best friend, Jacob (Brian McGuire), browbeats him into posting a personal ad on Craig's List. Vivian (Sara Simmonds) answers the ad...

What follows is a one-night whirlwind romance that is both hilarious and heartbreaking. A love letter to film, romance and Los Angeles (where Holdridge moved from Austin after making his first two features, WRONG NUMBERS and SEXLESS), the film features stunning black-and-white cinematography that does for LA what Woody Allen's MANHATTAN did for New York.

Show Us Your Midnight Kiss:

Take a photo of yourself in mid-smooch with your loved one, lost love, unrequited love, a random stranger, your favorite pet or get creative and post it to AFS's Facebook page , MySpace page, or email it to us at afs-communications@austinfilm.org. Photos will be compiled into a slideshow to play before the film and there will be a special champagne toast when the New Year's Eve "midnight moment" comes in the film. You may want to bone up on the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne!

The film opens for a regular run at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar on Friday, August 29th.
