  • Written and directed by Pablo Trapero
  • Cinematography by Guillermo Nieto
  • Edited by Ezequiel Borenstein and Nicolas Goldbart
  • Original music by Hugo Diaz, Leon Gieco, Juaujo Soza
  • Argentina, 2004, color, DVD, distributed by Palm Pictures, 103 min.
  • Spanish with English subtitles

Unlike American road movies in which 2-4 people pile into a car and “head west,” this Argentinean version packs an 84-year-old grandmother, her daughters and sons-in-law, grandchildren, and sundry other folks into a pickup and camper for a long journey out of Buenos Aires. With that combustible mixture in close quarters in stifling mosquito-buzzing heat, humor and absurdity abound. -- Chale Nafus
