New Member Mixer

Are you new to the Austin Film Society? Have you been a member for a while, but want to find out more about your membership benefits? Want to meet other AFS members? Join Austin Film Society staff and interns for our bi-monthly new member orientation and mixer!

We welcome new and renewing members to stop by the Austin Film Society, located on the lot of Austin Studios (1901 E. 51st Street), to meet our staff and interns, take a tour of the Studios, learn about your membership benefits, have a drink or two and maybe watch some films.

There will be a tour of Austin Studios at 6:30pm (as much as we can, since several stages are under construction!). If you are a filmmaker considering shooting at the Studios or interested in screening or break room rentals, this is the tour to be on to get all of your questions answered.

At 7 PM, we will head into the cool screening room to look at some movies! Bring your short, trailer, promo--anything under 5 minutes--to share with your fellow film fans. There will be a sign-up sheet and screenings will be first come, first served. We'll screen for about 30 minutes, and Bryan Poyser, Director of Artist Services, will get you acquainted with the various filmmaker programs AFS offers.

Your RSVP will help us determine how much beer to buy, but feel free to drop in at any point. Can’t make this mixer? We’ll do it again in January.
