Moviemaker Dialogues & Speakers Bureau

Moviemaker Dialogues provides a setting to hear from and soak up advice from visiting filmmakers. Guest filmmakers screen clips or shorts, then expound upon their respective craft through discussion. AFS members and Filmmaker Level members are encouraged to use these opportunities to engage established filmmakers in an educational environment. These dialogues are designed as participatory dialogues with cinephiles and filmmakers.

The AFS Speakers Bureau connects unique voices from the field with the community. Speakers come run the gamut, ranging from film directors to critics, media arts organization leaders to special effects coordinators. By providing an educational forum, the Bureau’s goal is to help shed light on the constantly shifting landscape that is the film industry. Speaking events are held at requesting organization’s facility or Austin Studios, which can take place in conjunction with an educational tour. ELIGIBILITY: Schools and service organizations, as speakers are available. To explore a possible event, please contact Christian Raymond at Christian@austinfilm.org.
