BODY OF WAR at Dobie Theatre, Friday 3.14

BODY OF WAR starts a theatrical run.....

I saw Ellen Spiro and Phil Donahue's wonderful new documentary BODY OF WAR at the Paramount yesterday (3.13) as an AFS Doc Tour co-sponsorship during SXSW. As the credits finished, Tomas Young, the subject of the film, wheeled out onto the Paramount stage. The audience, many with eyes brimming with tears, leaped to their feet and applauded the young man, who still seems surprised by the accolades he has received since the film has been showing at festivals. He is a true hero for speaking out against the war in Iraq, where he was severely wounded -- paralyzed from the chest down. After taking some questions from the audience, Tomas was joined onstage by his mom, director Ellen Spiro, and producer Phil Donahue. Now, even if you missed that amazing moment in Austin film events, you have one more chance. Tonight (Friday 3.14) you can see Tomas, Phil, and Ellen at the Dobie Theatre, where BODY OF WAR opens at 7:20pm. For more information. .
