Rebecca Campbell
Executive Director
Rebecca Campbell has served as Executive Director of the Austin Film Society since 1998. During her tenure, the Film Society expanded its nationally recognized exhibition and artist services, created Austin Studios, founded the Texas Film Hall of Fame, and established a community outreach and education initiative involving paid internships and summer youth camps.
Ms. Campbell spent 12 years in the nonprofit sector, serving as Executive Director of two statewide California organizations.

Carol Edwards
Director of Business Affairs
Carol Edwards has served as Director of Business Affairs for the Austin Film Society since 2003. Before joining AFS, Carol spent more than 20 years in finance and human resources for banking and accounting firms, among other businesses. She holds a BA in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. When not at AFS, she enjoys spending time on her ranch with her horses, dogs, cats and guineas. ... » read more

Development Manager
Sarah Ann joined AFS after spending four years in radio. While living in New York City, she interned in the production department at WNYC Public Radio, then worked for Air America and back to WNYC to work in their Communications Department. She moved to Austin in 2006 to be part of KUT’s Development Department and is now the Development Manager at AFS. Sarah Ann is committed to working with dynamic non-profit organizations that provide access to the arts beyond the scope of traditional audiences.

Prior to joining the Austin Film Society in 2006, she worked as Director of Development for Austin Children’s Museum and Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region. She has also volunteered as the founding chair for signature fundraising events with the Austin Children’s Museum, Planned Parenthood, Austin Heritage Society and SafePlace.

Chale Nafus was reputedly conceived in the top balcony of the Majestic Theater in Dallas, TX, two weeks after the attack on Pearl Harbor. For 13 years at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Catherine Parrington oversaw more than 1,000,000 square feet of backlot and production activity as manager of production services and studio operations. After deciding it was time for a change, this Los Angeles native found - after plenty of research and some serious soul-searching - that there was no better place for her husband and two little boys than Austin. Bryan Poyser co-wrote and produced the 2006 Burnt Orange production The Cassidy Kids and wrote and directed Dear Pillow, which was nominated for at 2005 Independent Spirit Award. He currently serves as the Director of Artist Services for the Austin Film Society. For some reason, he has maintained his own personal blog, Back to Me, for over 4 years now.

Christian honed his craft as a screenwriter in Los Angeles, working with Walt Disney Films, Touchstone Pictures and the Jacobson Company through the Disney Screenwriting Fellowship. Christian has developed scripts for production companies and studios, has received a variety of writing awards, and been honored by the Writers Guild of America, West. He also spent several years as a writer/producer of educational films, creating fifty-some projects ranging in subject matter from multilingual hotel ... » read more

She came to Austin from the New York City-area where she served as a marketing and publicity associate for First Run/Icarus Films, a 30-year-old documentary distribution company.
